FIGHTING GAMES: games where two players beat the crap out of each other with digital avatars. That's the theme, with the obvious TF-TG modifier. Total Prize pool for this contest is: $500.
The contest starts today on November 15th and will end in 2 months on January 15th.
The main theme of this contest is Fighting game Transformation with a preference for genderswap. Entries should depict a genderswap or other transformation that somehow relates to fighting games. Submissions can take any form: Comics, Pinups, Sequences, Stories, Captions, Mixed Media, etc. Visual and Written entries will be judged separately.
The most important rule for this contest is to make sure your entry is related to fighting games. The best definition I could come up with was 'a multiplayer focused game where 2 or more characters engage in primarily melee combat on a single screen with the goal of defeating the other character(s)'.Look below for a list of most major fighting game brands if you need more visual and specific examples. Rules:
Entries should in some way relate to fighting games
Entries should involve some kind of transformation, preferably genderswap
Word limit on written entries is 4000, You may separate an entry into multiple parts as long as it is still under 4000 words.
You may make fanart/fiction
You may make original entries but make sure its still fighting game themed
Alternate Universes are NOT transformation. A character has to undergo a change even if not depicted. A universe where someone was always the other gender is not TF or TG.
You may create original crossovers as long as at least one of the crossover titles was originally a fighting game (Street Fighter vs Pokemon would work. Pokemon vs Digimon would not)
Basing your entry on a fighting game that uses outside IPs is allowed BUT it has to make it clear it is set in the fighting game universe. (For example Android 21 is a fighting game original so DBZ entries with her could work)
You may use people playing/designing/discussing/etc a fighting game instead of the game characters as the transformation targets
The maximum amount of entries is 3 for art and 2 for writing. You may enter in both categories
All entries must be submitted after the contest starts
Real-World Political entries of any kind are not allowed
Photographs of real people and depictions of living celebrities who aren’t Shaq are also not allowed
Make sure that your entry description includes which fighting game its based on as well as any characters used. If the entry is an original concept make sure to note that instead. If its a written submission please include the word count.

All Pieces in each category will be judged in 3 elements
Ability: This will take into account your technical skill. For Visual entries this takes into account composition, anatomy, panel flow, colors, etc. Anything relevant to your piece’s look. For Written entries this will take into account grammar, vocabulary, pacing and anything else relevant to how it reads. 10 points total per judge.
Originality: How creative we feel your entry is. It doesn't need to be 100% brand new but if you use a common idea make sure to spice it up in your own way. 10 points total per judge.
Theme: How well your piece follows the theme of the contest. Trying to find loopholes in the contest theme or ignoring it entirely are usually the cause for low theme scores. 5 points total per judge.
Bonus Points
Bonus points will be awarded for the following
+2 points for some kind of journal, status post or other advertisement for the contest
+1 point for submitting your entry to the proper folder at

+1 point each for constructive comments left on other entries. Up to a maximum of 2.

FAQ:
What is TG?
TG generally means transgender. However the way we tend to use it around here usually means transformation involving gender. You may have seen it referred to as Genderswap, Feminization or Rule63. While it isn't mandatory for this contest it is appreciated.
What is TF?
TF stands for transformation. When used in this context It refers to the broad group of interests that involve something changing into something else. Genderswap, Twinning, Robotization, Bimbo, Corruption, Growth, Shrink, Inanimate, Hypnosis, Anthro and so on.
How do you payout prizes?
Through Paypal or deviantart point equivalent if you prefer. Other options may be discussed if you win.
Can I tell the judges my idea?
You can present your idea to any of the judges through notes or on discord. However judges are only allowed to confirm if your entry meets the requirements of the contest. May I make multiple entries?
You may submit 2 written entries and 3 visual arts entries
What happens if I go over the word limit?
Your submission will be disqualified.
Why is there a word limit?
Reading 30+ entries that all make full use of the limit is tiring for all judges and takes a while. We are basically reading a novel or two’s worth of tg stories. It makes sure us judges don't go too insane.
How do I submit my entry?

What if I have a mixed media piece including original art and text?
Submit it based on what you think the main part of the entry is. A comic page makes more sense to be submitted to art. A story with illustrations makes more sense for written.
If I make multiple entries do I also need to complete the bonuses multiple times?
The advertising bonus only needs to be completed once, so if you make a journal about the contest that will grant all of your entries 2 bonus points. The comment and group submission bonuses must be done for each entry separately. So if you were to make 4 entries you would need to comment on 8 entries and submit all four to to receive bonus points for all of them.
What if a game has a fighting mode but isn't a fighting game on its own?
This is a case by case basis kind of thing. For example Warframe added a fighting game mini-game you can play but that isn't enough to equal ‘fighting game’.
Are party games fighting games?
This is super subjective and in most cases its best if you ask us. Mario Party is definitely not but with things like Towerfall or Lethal League the line is fuzzier.
So can I just do Terry Bogard/Bowsette?
There are no rules saying you can’t but fair warning that given how popular these ideas were you’ll really have to go the extra mile to get those originality points. It isn’t impossible but you are making things harder for yourself.
Is a Powered Up form(ex:Super Saiyan) a transformation?
While technically it is, it's probably even less original than the two ideas above since its so common just in general. This would likely only work if you chose a particularly unique transformation or did it to a character that wouldn’t have it. Even still, I’d recommend trying another route.
How are winners announced?
After the contest ends the judges will begin grading all the submissions. Afterwards we’ll tally up the totals and then post a journal. Along with the winners we will also reveal the remaining top half of participants in each category.

2017 Summary of Art
Dejando eso de lado, este año estuvo mucho más varíado respecto a los dibujos: Los habituales semi-realistas, probando técnicas de pintado para conseguir nuevos efectos o tardar menos (que no siempre resultó así
), unos cuantos con sombreado simple y bastantes dibujos tradicionales. ¡Hasta me animé a intentar el 
Como era de esperar, no pude completar el desafío y caí el día 10
De todos modos fue bastante interesante comprobar hasta donde podía llegar... y eso también me hizo probar dibujar con plumones. También me dio confianza como para empezar a dibujar en hojas más grandes (antes usaba una libreta chiquita para hacer los dibus tradicionales ) y para Navidad me regalé un set de plumones Sharpie, con el cual pinté el dibujo navideño de este año 
¿Y qué tal me fue este año entonces? Supongo que podría dividirlo entre la actividad realizada y el cumpimiento de las metas de inicio de año. Comencemos por lo primero:
Enero fue un mes bastante provechoso. Conseguí realizar 5 dibujos, 2 de ellos con base tradicional, lo que no estuvo mal. Me motivé bastante en la iluminación de uno y en las sombras en el otro, tomándome más de una semana cada uno. Eso no estuvo bien, aunque el resultado fue bastante bueno.
En febrero estuve trabajando... y algo de tiempo me quedaba para dibujar tradicional. Aún así, tardaba menos completando dibus de esa forma. Por ello también probé con digitalizar para pintar sobre ellos. Al final subí dos tal cual y tres con pintado digital. Además, hice otro dibujo full digital y conseguí ir avanzando de a poco el fanfic hasta completar un capítulo más. Estuvo bastante bien la actividad ese mes.
En marzo comencé a complicarme con dibujos en apariencia simples, pero de todos modos conseguí subir 5 dibujos. Como dato extra a finales de mes conseguí llegar al milestone de 25K views y 100 watchers. Se sintió bastante bien eso
Continué trabajando en abril, por lo que todos los seis dibus (más gif) tuvieron base tradicional. Sólo uno subí tal cual. Un mes un poco más lento, pero con ideas interesantes.
Mayo fue un desastre. Por algún motivo estuve bastante trabado y sólo conseguí tres dibujos. No recuerdo exactamente qué pasó, ya que no estuve trabado grave en ningún dibujo en particular :-/
En junio me animé dibujando personajes de Kill la Kill. Estuve bastante motivado, pero por desgracia sólo conseguí hacer cinco dibujos debido a otros asuntos u.u
Volví a trabajar en julio, y con ello volvieron los dibujos tradicionales, consiguiendo completar cinco. Además subí otro dibujo digital y un capítulo más del fanfic, el cual sería el último del año u.u
Agosto marcó el comienzo de una nueva etapa de baja actividad... Sólo conseguí hacer tres dibujos, dos de ellos tradicionales, porque me trabé con el último, que era base tradicional y pintado digital. No había manera de hacer que saliera bien y me retuvo casi dos semanas u.u
Septiembre fue otro mes malo. Sólo un mísero dibujo. Al menos esta vez abandonaba la pequeña libreta y usaba un block A4. De todos modos, no más actividad durante el resto del mes. Muy mal.
Octubre marcó un renacer gracias al Inktober. Comencé con ganas, pero a la semana comencé a hacer dibujos más complicados y terminé fallando. Al menos eso me dejó 11 dibujos tradicionales, además de uno digital para un proyecto grupal en el que estaba entonces.
Por desgracia, ese mismo proyecto devoró mi tiempo disponible y apenas pude subir un dibujo tradicional durante noviembre u.u
¡Y finalmente Diciembre! Ya con el evento terminado pude retomar mis labores artísticas y hasta ofrecí hacer requests. Sólo hice una (continúo con las demás este mes), pero también hice cuatro dibujos más, festivos en su mayoría.
Algo errático mi desempeño, pero en conjunto fue bastante bien. Conseguí realizar 59 dibujos y dos capítulos de fanfic, algo más bajo que el año pasado (en especial respecto a la escritura), pero con mayor número de dibujos digitales y mayor calidad en los tradicionales
Ahora, respecto a las metas de principio de año... la idea de base tradicional y luego digitalizar funcionó bien, aunque terco como soy aún quiero conseguir hacer lineart decentes y en poco tiempo en modo digital. Más práctica me hace falta, pero estoy en ello (Aunque no tanto como debería. Toca mejorar eso).
Lo de los tres dibujos semanales no se cumplió ni de chiste. Apenas superó uno semanal... lo cual tampoco está tan mal, considerando que son más elaborados que las prácticas de dibujo del año anterior, pero igual podría (y debería) tardar menos.
En cuanto a temática, como suponía la mayoría fue fanart. De animé en su mayoría, aunque los primeros meses se vio más de videojuegos. Los OCs destacaron un poco más, aunque más tirando hacia finales de año los míos y al principio de éste los ajenos.
Lo del fanfic fue un desastre. No hubo apenas avance, excepto cuando trabajaba y aprovechaba los tiempos libre para ir escribiendo. La verdad es que el pasado año, aunque me esforcé más en los dibujos, me desordené más en los horarios, lo que me impidió enfocarme en escribir. ¿Qué sucederá este año? La verdad ya no sé. Está claro que esa historia la continúo más por terquedad y porque no quiero rendirme dejándola inconclusa, pero... hmmm, aunque el sentido común dice que la abandone, pues ya pasó su tiempo... lo haré... de algún modo volveré a escribir.
Y bueno, planes para este año. Veamos... Pareciera que todo lo que se escribe en estas "Buenas intenciones de principio de año" se quedan justamente en eso... así que esta vez iré por libre, a ver donde termino

)The last month and a half I was working hard helping to organize an event of anime and japanese culture.
"Dango Con" was reasonably succesful despite being our first event. After all the effort put into it, it felt good to see it done
But, to the point...
3st quarter year summary + Inktober
El mes de Julio comencé con un dibujo-regalo en grafito para SolKorra que curiosamente salió a tiempo. Para el siguiente dibujo, digital, me tomé bastante tiempo. Aunque el resultado fue bastante bueno, el que me tomara casi dos semanas fue demasiado. Luego comencé con una serie de dibujos tradicionales relacionados con la mini-serie de Netflix, Castlevania. Aunque la mayoría de ellos los realicé durante el tiempo libre durante el trabajo (o quizás precisamente por ello) pude terminarlos en 1 ó 2 días, lo que me permitió aumentar el ritmo considerablemente.
Esto me deja pensando en el porqué avanzo tan rápido con dibujos tradicionales en comparación a los digitales. Muy probablemente sea debido a que abuso del "Ctrl+Z" y "en búsqueda de la perfección" termino trabándome solo. En fin...
Resumiento, terminé el mes de Julio con 6 dibujos y un capítulo del fanfic que alcanzó a salir antes de fin de mes. Por desgracia no he hecho más. Escribí unas páginas durante el trabajo, pero las perdí cuando se me infectó el pendrive con un virus. Volví a bosquejar el capítulo, pero no le he dedicado tiempo, aunque aún no me rindo con este proyecto.
El siguiente mes volví con los dibujos tradicionales de Castlevania, aunque el primero me tomó más tiempo debido a que no me salía correctamente la pose. Intenté hacer un dibujo que no fuera exactamente basado en una imagen de la serie, pero terminó dificultándome bastante. Al final me tomó como cinco días el terminarlo.
El resto del mes estuve batallando por terminar algunos dibujos digitales. No me salían poses ni líneas correctas, así que casi a fin de mes hice otro dibujo tradicional, ésta vez de RWBY. Luego volví a intentar degital y conseguí al menos terminar uno antes de fin de mes, quedando éste con tres míseras entradas.
En Septiembre comenzó un cierto desorden en el dormir... variando mucho las horas de despertar y yéndome a dormir más tarde. En parte por dibujar y en parte por no haber empezado más temprano xD
Este mes fue un completo desastre. Aunque conseguí sacar un dibujo tradicional la primera semana, esto fue lo único que alcancé a conseguir. Intenté dibujar a mis OCs como había prometido, pero poco más pude hacer aparte de ciertas poses. No hubo caso que me salieran líneas adecuadas. Conseguí bosquejos de Natasha, Vanessa e Irene, pero no pasaron de eso. Fue bastante frustrante.
Y sí, llegó Octubre, y con él, Inktober. La verdad, para alguien que con suerte podía hacer 6 dibujos en un mes el intentarlo parecía cosa de locos, pero tenía esperanza en que al ser dibujos tradicionales podría conseguir avanzar. Y la verdad es que al principio así fue. Conseguí terminar los cuatro primeros dibujos a tiempo. Para el quinto decidí dibujar a Natasha y buscando que quedara bien me tomé dos días. Luego dibujé a Irene y me tomé dos días más, así que ya quedé atrasado en dos dibujos u.u
Oficialmente ya habría fallado el desafío... ¡pero no me rendiré! El mes no ha terminado aún y puedo recuperar terreno. Además, el verdadero objetivo del Inktober es conseguir regularidad al dibujar, y al menos eso ya lo consiguió. Ahora a mantenerlo... y a recuperar terreno en el Challenge!
